Mati Carbon

Through The Wren Climate Collective, Mpactful Ventures funded a 2024 grant which included a gift for Mati Carbon.

Mati Carbon is working to cumulatively remove 100 million tonnes of carbon by 2040 via their Enhanced Rock Weathering technology. Their focus on smallholder farmers enables them to not only be a long-term solution for CO₂ removal, but also enables building community resilience and growth of rural economies in the Global South by improving soil health, reducing costs, and enhancing crop yields.

In the spring of 2025, Mati Carbon was awarded the $50 million Grand Prize in the XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition due to their scalability, effectiveness, and verifiability of carbon removal.
