Partners In Health

Hôpital Universitaire de Mirebalais (HUM) is the largest teaching hospital in Haiti, offering a wide variety of medical services and training opportunities in the rural areas. Upgrades to the solar energy system were necessary in order  to meet current and future needs as well as address existing challenges. The cost of improvements is estimated to be about $4 million, and will ensure that rural Haitians have continued access to environmentally sound healthcare.

Currently, the Partners in Health team has decommissioned the old solar array, removed the existing roof membrane, and installed the new roof membrane. All the solar equipment has been purchased and is in transit, including solar panels, racking, batteries, inverters, and switchgear. All items should all arrive by fall 2022.

Solar installation on the roof of the hospital will commence in the fall and continue through the end of the calendar year.

Mpactful Ventures made a restricted grant to Partners in Health to assist in this project.
